Recently in Guadalajara, academic attendees of the conference Drugs, Politics and Culture: Perspectives from Brazil-Mexico produced a unified declaration about the failure of international drug war policies, and called for decriminalization and respect for human rights from policy makers.
The event was a partnership between the Center for Research and Post Graduate Studies in Social Anthropology (CIESAS) in Guadalajara, with the Brazilian Drug Policy Platform (BPDP) and the Nucleus for Interdisciplinary Studies of Psychoactives (NEIP), both from Brazil.
